Job Description

Role Overview

Help improve next-generation AI systems by applying backend engineering expertise to high-quality, real-world technical work. This remote contract role focuses on building reliable, scalable C#/.NET services and APIs. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using C# and .NET.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and security.
  • Improve existing backend processes for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues in staging and production environments.
  • Document backend architecture and technical specifications for effective team collaboration.
  • Support ongoing improvements to development practices and processes.

Qualifications

  • Expert-level proficiency with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Strong MySQL experience, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Solid knowledge of server-side logic, RESTful API development, and integration patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage priorities effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and deploying cloud-hosted applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and Agile methodologies.
  • Background in high-growth, innovation-focused environments.

Work Terms

  • Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

  • $60 to $110 per hour.
