Job Description

Social Media Manager Brooklyn, NY | Full-Time | Hybrid In Office/WFH ABOUT BARKThink Disney for dogs. We aren't just selling toys; we're creating the joy, connection, and delightful chaos that defines the bond between dogs and their people. At our core, we believe dogs make life better, and we're on a mission to return the favor by building THE Dog Company. We operate at the intersection of data, technology, and pure creativity. We move fast, test relentlessly, and use real feedback from millions of pups to build smarter systems, better products, and more meaningful experiences. We're looking for people who want to challenge the status quo and help us invent what's next for dogs and their humans.THE TEAMThe Brand Team is in the business of making people smile before they ever buy anything. We create the stories, campaigns, and moments that make BARK one of the internet's favorite brands to follow.Social sits at the center of that work. You'll own how millions of people experience BARK every day, partnering with Creative, Growth, Product Marketing, PR, and Customer Experience to create content people choose to watch, share, save, and send to the group chat.WHO WE'RE SNIFFING FORThe internet is weird. We like it that way. We're looking for someone who knows great social isn't built in approval meetings—it's built by people who understand culture, trust their instincts, and know when to throw the playbook out the window. You think in content series instead of one-off posts. You bookmark weird TikToks for inspiration. You know the difference between chasing a trend and creating one. You understand that the comments section can be just as valuable as the post itself. You're excited about AI because it helps you create better work—not because it replaces creativity. You use it to brainstorm, spot patterns, automate the repetitive stuff, analyze what's resonating, and spend more time making ideas people actually care about. You have strong creative instincts, good judgment, and know how to help a team make smart creative decisions while balancing speed with thoughtful execution.KEY DUTIESOwn BARK's social media strategy and content across every platform, helping make BARK one of the internet's favorite brands.Build an AI-enabled content engine that helps the team create smarter, move faster, and spend more time making great ideas instead of managing repetitive work.Keep BARK delightfully unpredictable by developing original social-first campaigns, partnering with creators, jumping on the right cultural moments, and occasionally creating a few of our own.Use performance data, social listening, audience insights, and emerging AI tools to continuously improve content performance, identify opportunities, and drive stronger business results.Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, ownership, and creative ambition.WHAT YOU BRINGA portfolio that makes us say, "Wait...you did that?" Experience owning social media strategy for a consumer-facing brand and delivering measurable business results.Deep understanding of today's social platforms, the creator economy, internet culture, and how people actually consume content.Experience using AI throughout the creative process—from ideation and research to workflow automation, content production, social listening, and performance analysis.Strong creative instincts balanced with a healthy respect for data.Experience building content strategies that combine original creative, creators, user-generated content, and community.Experience managing and developing a high-performing team while partnering effectively with agencies, creators, and cross-functional teammates.A bias toward experimentation, curiosity, and finding smarter ways to work. The ability to balance strategy with execution—you enjoy setting direction for the team, but you're just as happy writing the perfect caption, reviewing content, or jumping into the comments when needed.Must love dogs. This is a full-time role based in our New York City office. We offer competitive compensation, equity, and benefits designed to support both you and your pack—including comprehensive healthcare, pet wellness coverage, and the flexibility and support you need to do your best work.PAY TRANSPARENCYThe base salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000This position is eligible for equity
